A prairie boy from Saskatchewan who moved to Toronto 22 years ago, my upbringing instilled the pioneer work ethic: "Start the day early, work hard, a handshake means something - if you live this way, you will enjoy an abundant harvest."
At age 17 I started my first company, and by age 24 I had sold my second company. Looking for new adventures, I joined an upstart company based in Quebec, and helped to build market share in Canada, and ultimately across the USA and Internationally. Those years selling to the largest, most ruthless retailers in the world taught me lessons in the art of negotiation that I use each and every day to help my clients.
In the early 2000's I saw a gap in my education and decided to study Marketing Management part-time in the evenings at Ryerson University. Learning how to use marketing for the benefit of my selling clients is one reason their homes tend to sell for more, with more better terms, in a shorter period of time.
Fast foward to today, and I'm pretty charged up (and humbled) to be one of the most watched Realtors in the Toronto market. This was made possible by my weekly educational real estate videos that appear on Facebook at www.facebook.com/jimemilsonrealtor, and have been viewed by an audience of more than 50,000 in the first 6 months of 2016 alone. My proprietary home marketing magazine "for sale." distinguishes my clients homes from others. And my use of a professional production company to capture the character of great Toronto neighbhourhoods is another plank in the Emilson marketing platform.
Over the years it has been a privilege to win a variety of Awards at the brokerage and National level. That is truly gratifying, but for me the real reward is happy clients who refer my services to their friends and family.
